Navigating the Magnificent Marketing Ecosystem

Navigating the Magnificent Marketing Ecosystem

A recruiter once told me she hated hiring for sales and marketing leadership because sales people are sellers and marketers know how to market. She had a hard time figuring out which ones were really good and which ones were just telling a story. Good for us that so few recruiters are experts who specialize in these disciplines.

As a firm that exclusively hires in sales and marketing, we have a unique bird’s-eye view into various industries, organizations and talent that all attack the opportunity differently. By fluidly moving in and out of companies, and engaging with some of the most brilliant minds in business, we are naturally seeing what works and what doesn't. Our ecosystem informs our expertise.

Today, Shine Talent is bringing that expertise to you by introducing the first issue of the Shine Talent Field Guide to Marketing Talent and Growth which was created with insights delivered to us by our network of Fortune 500 CMOs and D2C CMOs.

The purpose of this Field Guide is to help our community navigate through the biggest themes impacting marketing and put forward solutions and ideas that will inspire new ways to build your organizations and rethink the talent needed to grow your business.

There is a lot in this twenty-two page guide so let me share two quick notes on who we wrote it for and how to approach.

  1. This is written for the Shine Talent community which consists of CEOs, Venture Partners, Revenue and Marketing leaders and those that play a role in hiring for these positions. Each reader should look at the content through the lens that works for them. Our first Field Guide is on Marketing and you will see future Field Guides addressing all areas of revenue growth.
  2. There are 6 themes. Pick one that feels like it matters most to you today and dive in. We are going to be going deeper on each in the weeks to come so please, follow us on Shine Talent’s LinkedIn and you will hear more in-depth thinking and 1:1 conversations with the CMOs and revenue leaders in our network.

We hope you find our Field Guides useful as you build your magnificent revenue ecosystems. While other recruiters may feel perplexed by these challenging roles, we are obsessed and feel lucky to be working with leadership that has the ability to lift or transform a company with their exceptional talent.
